Alex’s Lemonade Stand and GoodSearch
I have a strong need to help sick children in any way I can. My kids are healthy and I thank God for that every day. But I know there are children out there suffering needlessly with diseases that need cures. My family does things to raise money, even if just a little, to help others. I want to instill the same desire, to help others in need, in my children.
So, last summer my daughter wanted to set up a lemonade stand. Unfortunately, we live on a dead end street that has very little traffic and hardly any children living on it. I knew she would be disappointed if she set it up and no one came. I turned to the internet and just searched “lemonade stand” for whatever reason. Not sure what I thought I would find….But I found something amazing…
Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation has a vision to cure all kids who have cancer. I certainly want my family to be as big a part of that as possible. So last summer we set up a Lemonade Stand at a local K-Mart and gave away free lemonade and sold baked goods and pita chips! We raised about $300 in just a few hours. I know that doesn’t seem like a lot but if so many people are doing this they can really make a difference!! So, get busy and set up your stand today! And have some summer fun while helping cancer research!
If you are not able to set up a lemonade stand there are many other ways to help. On Saturday, July 12th, 2008 ALSF (Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation) will be the Charity of the Day on GoodSearch. Tell your friends to simply submit a search for anything and it supports ALSF.
You can also donate at ALSF’s website and you can also go to our FirstGiving website byy clicking the button below and donate through there to help us meet our fundraising goal. My family, and all those out there who need your help, would appreciate your support immensely!!!
Check this out as well!!! You can buy a virtual cup of Lemonade and share them through e-mail to help support childhood cancer research! One hundred percent of the proceeds go to help spread the word about the important work that ALSF is doing, so you are helping in a big way.
