Ancient Church found in Jordan
Here is the news article from Comedy Central, er, FoxNews. Here is a better one from MSNBC. I wonder if they will find a mosaic like the one here, which is purportedly the world’s oldest church. One of the striking things about the church at Megiddo is the inscription calling Christ God and noticably absent if the mention of the ‘Father’, or ‘Son’ of even the ‘Spirit’. Fully see is that only Christ is called God. And this was pre-Nicene. Of course, this fits well into the thesis that Antiochian Theology (Asia-Minor Theology) was differently then that of the Alexandrine-Roman Theology.
Note that the inscription mention in the article is from an Orthodox Church that occupies the place now.
If I have have the time, this would be a major focus of study for me, in exploring the two spheres of the Ancient Church.
I guess will have to wait and see in the church at Jordan yields any such results
