I am a Mormon, a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints…and my Jesus is the same Jesus you believe in. The same Jesus Christ that is in the Bible.
I thought I would just put that out there, in case you didn’t know. Also, if you want to know what Mormons REALLY believe, I would just talk with one…hear them out. Don’t judge too fast and don’t rely on a cartoon to learn about us.

Actually, Peggy, the Mormon Jesus is a gnostic Jesus mixed in with early 19th century American rural legends. I actually do know what Mormons believe, and that is why I can honestly say that the Mormons do not stand on the bible or anywhere near it.

Peggy,
Since you believe in the same Jesus as me then you know that the book of mormon is a bunch of garbage.
If you believe the Bible, and you believe that Jesus is who He said He was and accomplished what He set out to accomplish, then what makes you a mormon? If you don’t believe these things then you don’t trust the Bible and we DO NOT believe in the same Jesus.
Peggy do you believe that Jesus is God? Is Jesus your Lord? Can there be salvation WITHOUT believing that joe smith was a prophet? Must you pray to Jesus? Other than placing your faith in Jesus what else (according to mormonism) MUST you do to be saved?
If you put your faith in a Jesus that is false then your faith is useless. It sounds like you do not know what your own faith teaches if you think we’re believing on the same Jesus. If we’re believing the same things then what’s the point in mormonism?

Clark, you said it all and then some. I may be wrong, but this current push by the LDS bunch to equate Christianity and Mormonism may be stemmed by the candidacy of Mr. Romney.

Too bad it appears Peggy was a one-time poster. These folks never want to defend their claims.

Actually I don’t frequent this blog…sorry…I was up late one night looking for some funny Mormon mom blogs and came across this blog and felt like commenting. I stand with what I said before…Your Jesus is my Jesus…I don’t understand why I don’t have a problem with that and you do.
What I know: Heavenly Father lives (that’s God), Jesus Christ is his Son and mine and your Savior, God had prophets on the earth before and he has a prophet on the earth today. Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ love us. They gave us another testament of their love, The Book of Mormon (it goes along with the Bible (I’d invite anyone to read it and decide for themselves if it is true or not…it’s up to you to do the work to find out), it doesn’t discredit the Bible at all…you really can have both. I love both books. I also know Heavenly Father loves us all and wants us all to return to Him. So there you have it, that’s what I believe in a nutshell. Don’t be surprised if I don’t comment again, I don’t think I have anything else to say. If you’ve heard the missionary discussions and read and prayed about the Book of Mormon and don’t feel it’s true, then that’s your conclusion and we can still be friends.

Peggy, your Jesus is NOT my Jesus. The Book of Mormon is not another Testament. It is filled with contradictions and further, it contradicts the Bible itself.

Peggy,
Why Mormonism if it’s no different than Christianity?
You took the time to respond again but didn’t want to answer any of my questions. You told us previously to ask a mormon and not rely on a cartoon…so I’ve asked a mormon. According to the book of mormon is Jesus God?…because according to God’s Word (the Bible) He is! Jesus is who He claimed to be and I won’t waste my time studying a false gospel.
